Edit or delete an Initiative measure

When an Initiative reaches Step 4 in the Initiative approval process, Committee Approval, the Initiative cannot be edited unless an approver rejects it back to a previous step. For information on who can edit an Initiative and when, see Edit an Initiative.

To edit or delete a measure from an Initiative:

  1. Open the Initiative’s plan file page.

  2. On the plan file page, click the Milestones/Measures tab.
  3. In the Measures section, do any of the following as needed:
    • To change the Target, in the Target field, type the new target number.

      IMPORTANT: If you change the target of a performance improvement measure A measure belonging to the PI-Dollars-Performance Improvement measure class. These measures involve some sort of cost reduction/savings or improvements to performance that result in cost reduction/savings. after the Initiative is saved, be aware that the change is not applied to all future months in the Initiative’s active period. You will need to ask the Strategy Management Admin to update the target manually in the InitiativeMeasureData table.

    • To change the Baseline, in the Baseline field, type the new baseline number.
    • To change the Start Date, in the Start Date field, click the calendar icon (), and select a new start date for the measure.

      NOTE: The system defaults to the first of whichever month you select, regardless of the date of the month selected.

    • To change the End Date, In the End Date field, click the calendar icon (), and select a new end date for the measure.

      IMPORTANT: Ensure all measure time frames fall within the Period Begin and Period End dates of the Objective with which the Initiative is associated.

      NOTE: You cannot change the selected Department or Entity. You can delete the measure and create a replacement.

    • To delete the Initiative measure, select the check box to the left of the graph icon. When you save changes, the measure is deleted.
  4. Click Save.
