Import Plan Files command

Use the Import Plan Files command to allow users to import plan files back into the Axiom Software database after the files have been exported.

Can be used in

  • Task panes
  • Ribbon tabs

When the Import Plan Files command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as command://ImportPlanFile or command://ImportPlanFileCommandAdapter (legacy syntax).

Shortcut parameters

This command uses a single shortcut parameter:

Mode Description

File Group

The file group into which users can import plan files. Click the folder icon to select a file group. You can choose any file group or file group alias.

Visibility

Items using this command are visible only if the user has access to the specified file group. You can use the Show restricted item option for the task pane or the ribbon tab to force the item to be visible at all times (but grayed out if unavailable).

Remarks

  • This command is intended to be used in conjunction with the Export Plan Files command, to provide the means to export plan files and then later import the files back into the system. For more information on this process and its limitations, see Exporting plan files for offline use.

  • To successfully import the plan file, the following conditions must be met:

    • The user must have read/write access to the corresponding file in the Axiom Software database in order to perform the import. Process management and workflow ownership rights are honored to determine whether a user currently has read/write access.
    • The file to import must have the same file name as an existing plan file in the file group.
