FAQs
Here are some commonly asked questions about Clinical Analytics; click the question to display the answer.
YES! All benchmark values are risk-adjusted according to the selected Grouping type of your Analysis Profile, so your patients are being compared to other patients in the same Diagnosis-Related Group, so we can assume similar resource usage. See Benchmark calculations for more information about how we ensure your analysis is making apples-to-apples comparisons for robust conclusions.
PSI-90 is a composite score developed and calculated by AHRQ; this score is one component of VBP reimbursement values. PSI-90 is a smoothed, risk-adjusted, weighted average of 10 individual PSIs (Patient Safety Indicators). AHRQ currently does not offer software to calculate PSI-90 based on ICD-10 coding because the risk and harm factors in the PSI-90 algorithm are based on historical data and ICD-10 has not been used widely enough to provide adequate historical data for these calculations. After the ICD-10 software is available from AHRQ, it will be made available in Clinical Analytics for you to estimate your PSI-90 score. Keep in mind that final PSI-90 scores are determined after-the-fact, so any real-time calculations are estimates and may not be exact. See the Downloadable fact sheets page for links to more PSI resources.
