FAQs, tips and use cases
Click the links below for some tips to keep in mind as you're working in Clinical Analytics:

We recommend developing facility-wide standards for naming Scorecards, Templates, and Reports in Clinical Analytics so users have common language to refer to when naming or searching for these items. Typically, we see naming conventions including the creator's initials, a summary of the object's purpose, and/or abbreviations for the profiles, measures, or group-bys included. By extension, these conventions typically also include guidelines for sharing or otherwise making work public. Consult your facility's Clinical Analytics Administrator regarding existing guidelines or to get the conversation started. See Template naming conventions for more ideas.

Profiles exist as global objects to be used across your scorecard in multiple sections. Population inclusion and exclusion parameters can also be established in the Settings of most sections (and saved as Section-specific templates), but these settings are not portable across sections, so the parameters must be reset for each section. We recommend Customizing profiles when defining your patient population, keeping in mind that section parameter settings, and the related Section-Specific Templates, are designed for on-the-fly analytics to refine your broader Profile as you dig into your data. Contact Support if you have further questions or would like a demonstration of these complimentary features in Clinical Analytics.

If you ever aren't sure what a feature in Clinical Analytics is for or how a measure is calculated, check Documentation. You can reach Documentation by clicking the Documentation tab of the Home page or by clicking the Documentation link in the top right corner of the screen anywhere in Clinical Analytics. Documentation was created to be searchable, so once you are in Documentation, simply enter the name of a section, measure, or other feature into the search bar at the top of any page in Documentation to be taken to a list of resources containing similar keywords. As always, contact Support if you're still not sure.
