Define order of allocation definitions

Axiom processes allocation definitions in the order they appear on the Manage allocation definitions page. The order in which the definition runs is indicated in the Run order column. Any deactivated definitions retain their original locations, so, if you reactivate a deactivated definition, the system prompts you to specify whether to put the definition back in its original location or select a new location. For more information, see Activate or deactivate allocation definitions.

If the list only shows activated definitions, you may notice gaps in the Run order column, which means that the missing run order definitions were deactivated. To view the run order for all definitions, whether active or deactivated, clear the check mark from the Show only active definitions check box at the top of the page.

IMPORTANT: Reordering definitions can affect the run process for other definitions.

Define order of allocation definitions

  1. From the Enterprise Decision Support home page, click Modify most recent cost model or Manage cost models in the Cost accounting section. The last cost model you selected appears at the top of the page.

  2. To change cost models, select another one from the Select cost model dropdown.

  3. Under the Reclasses and allocations section, click Define allocations.

  4. On the Manage allocations page, click the arrow icon for the definition to move in the Actions column.

For example, if you have are six definitions, the definition that is currently in position 3 can be moved after positions 1, 4, 5, and 6. Positions 2 and 3 are not listed because the definition already resides after position 2 and exists as position 3.

NOTE: If only two definitions are in the list, you can only change the order by moving the definition in position 1 to position 2.

  5. In the Move definition? dialog, select the definition after which the definition should follow, and then click Move.
  6. When ready, process the cost model.
