Working with noninterest income and expenses

Use the Non-Interest tab in the budget plan to manage the budget for associated noninterest income and expenses.

To access the Non-Interest tab:

  1. From the FI Home page, click Financial Planning.

  2. On the Financial Planning home page, click the notepad icon in the Plan Code column for the department.

  3. On the plan file page, click the Non-Interest tab.

This tab contains the following elements: 

The Income and Expense sub-tabs break down a category, such as income, into subcategories that identify the specific type of income. Accounts identify the departments that own a specific income type. See Income and Expense sub-tabs.
You can modify the display format for noninterest income and expense budget information using the View drop-down list. See Controls available for displaying income and expenses.
The table lists income or expenses, depending on the sub-tab you view.

To update information for non-interest income or expenses:

  1. Select how you want to display budget information.

  2. Select the department that you want to maintain and enter information in the respective editable fields (based on the calculation method associated with the account), using the Income and expense data fields.

  3. When you are done entering information for the noninterest income, click Save.

Income and Expense sub-tabs

Use the Income and Expense sub-tabs to view accounts and maintain associated department budgets. When you view noninterest income and expenses for a department, the table columns reflect information that relates to the calculation method that the budget administrator chose for the account.

TIP: Budget administrators set the calculation method in each account from within the dimension table. For information, see Accounts Dimension and Non-Interest tab calculation method library.

Controls available for displaying income and expenses

From the View drop-down list, select the time period of the noninterest income and expense budget information.

Option Description
Projected Months - 20XX-20XX Displays the last actual month plus projected months for the base year and plan year 1.
All Projected Months Displays the projected months for the base year, plan year 1, and plan year 2.
All Actual and Projected Months Displays the actual and projected months for the base year and projected months for plan year 1 and plan year 2.
Monthly - 20XX Displays the annual budgets and monthly budgets for the base year.
Monthly - 20XX Displays the annual budgets and monthly budgets for plan year 1.
Monthly - 20XX Displays the annual budgets and monthly budgets for plan years 2 through 5.
Annual Summary Displays the (previous year end, base, and projected) annual budgets.

Income and expense data fields

Enter or select the applicable information for noninterest income or expense using the text entry fields and drop-down lists in the following table.

Field Action
Spread Method Select a spread method from the list. Choices are Days, Even, or Historical.
Prior Year (year) Read-only, system-calculated.
YTD Actual (year) Read-only, system-calculated.
Remaining (year) Read-only, system-calculated.
Base Year (year) Enter a percentage for the base year income or expenses adjustment to global annual growth rate.
Plan Year 1 (year) Enter a percentage for the planned income or expenses for year 1 adjustment to global annual growth rate.
Projected (mo) Enter the projected income or expenses for the given month.
Plan (mo) Enter the planned income or expenses for the given month.
Comments Enter a comment of up to 250 characters in length, using alpha or numeric characters.
