Unable to determine the compound range delimiter
Summary
When opening a plan file or report in the Axiom Software Desktop Client General term for using either the Excel Client or the Windows Client, both of which are installed to the user's desktop., you may encounter the following error: "We are unable to determine the compound range delimiter."
Details
The Axiom Software Desktop Client display formats (currency, dates, etc.) are determined by the regional format settings on your operating system. If you change a specific format to a setting that does not match the operating system's default setting, you may encounter errors. For example, for workstations in the United States, if you change the list separator format setting from comma (which is the default) to a pipe character, you will encounter the error below.
Example error when opening an Axiom plan file or report
Resolution
The following steps show how to restore the list separator format setting to comma on a Windows 10 workstation located in the United States.

Click Start > Control Panel.
- Click Clock and Region.
- Click Region.
- On the Formats tab, click Additional Settings.
- Change the List separator setting to a comma and then click OK.
Outcome
With the list separator set to its default regional format setting, you will no longer encounter the error when opening an Axiom plan file or report.
