KB1005
502 error when accessing an Axiom Cloud system
Summary
Axiom Cloud clients may encounter a 502 error when attempting to access their systems. Closing and restarting the browser typically resolves this error.
Details
Axiom Cloud clients access their systems by navigating to a designated URL in a browser. When accessing this URL, the following error may occur:
Server Error: 502 – Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.
Example 502 error in a browser
Axiom cloud systems have multiple services in Microsoft Azure that direct you to Axiom over the web. Occasionally, your request may be hosted by a specific service that is unavailable, even though additional services assigned to the system are still active. In most cases, simply closing and reopening your browser may resolve the issue. The Axiom Cloud is designed to automatically resolve the problematic service and alert our cloud operations team if the issue persists.
Resolution
- Close all open browser windows on your workstation. This will clear any browser cookies that may be related to earlier Axiom sessions. (If you are using a different supported browser instead, close all windows relating to that browser.)
- Start a new session of a supported browser and navigate to the URL for your Axiom cloud system.
- If you encounter the 502 error again, repeat the previous steps three times.
- If the issue persists after the third attempt, or if all users in your organization are getting the 502 error, contact Axiom Support to confirm that the resolution is already being applied by our cloud operations team.
Outcome
Once you are directed to an active service, you will be forwarded to the Axiom home page for your cloud service system.
