Configuring plan file settings

The Configuration driver contains settings for the structure and contents of the plan files. They affect the look, feel, and design of how users interact with the plan files.

The Configuration driver file includes the following driver types:

Driver Description
General Setup Includes general system-wide settings for Axiom Capital Planning and affects both Threshold and Non-Threshold templates.
Templates

Defines the available templates for creating capital project requests.

TIP: We recommend you first review Configuring capital project templates before setting up your project templates.

Project Type Input Table Defines the available types of projects for users to select when creating a new capital project request. The main purpose of this driver type is to allow for easier sorting and filtering when reviewing multiple requests.
Picklists Defines items for standard and custom picklists used throughout capital project requests.
Text Fields Allows you to define up to ten additional fields for inclusion in capital project requests.
Purchase Period Input Table Defines periods to which requests can be assigned. Typically defined by month, but can also be defined by quarter.
Business Plan Questions Lists standard questions presented to users when creating capital requests to provide additional narrative justification.
Decision Matrix Input Table Assigns scores to responses on the Decision Matrix form, which asks users to gauge the input of the requests against multiple categories. Think of these as the pillars of your organization.
Capital Related Questions Lists additional yes/no questions for inclusion in capital requests. The answers to these questions can be used in your organization's workflow.
Summary Financial Capital and Operating Inputs

Determines capital and operating inputs for summary (Non-Threshold) capital project requests.

TIP: We recommend you first review Configuring capital project templates before setting up your project templates.

Category Input Table Defines the capital categories for each type of request.

IMPORTANT: Any change to the configuration settings and assumptions in driver files can affect the structure and contents of any number of related plan files.

NOTE: Driver files may reference dimension tables shared with other applications. Check with other application administrators before changing any of these shared dimension tables.
