OData API

You can use the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting for Higher Education OData API to access data from the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting for Higher Education database. The Open Data Protocol (OData) is a standard data access protocol for the web. Information technology professionals can use the OData API to enable connectivity from third-party tools such as Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Qlik, and any others that follow the OData standard.

There are two ways to use the OData API:

• You can leverage standard OData API syntax to create a custom solution to query data. For more information, see Using the OData API with a custom solution.

• You can use the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting for Higher Education Power BI Connector to query data in Microsoft Power BI. For more information, see Using the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting for Higher Education Power BI Connector.

Regardless of which approach you use, the following requirements apply:

• The OData API must be enabled for your system using the EnableODataAPI system configuration setting. For more information, see Enabling the OData API.

• If the Axiom Budgeting and Forecasting for Higher Education data structures change, you must reset the Axiom Application Server so that the OData API recognizes these changes. For more information, Refreshing the OData API for table changes.
