Errors for summary accounts in the Threshold Level table

Summary

In the Threshold Level table (the VCC Threshold table on the Management Reporting Admin task pane), you can set the VCC reporting comment entry at a summary account level instead of the many accounts within each section (for example, Salaries, Other Expenses, Revenue, Stats, and so on) on the Dept Variance tab or VCC tab on the Month End Dashboard.

If you are using the summary account option, an error similar to the following may be displayed when you save the VCC Threshold table:

Resolution

The “Warning: Not a valid account for…” message indicates that the summary account you want to use for recording comments is not correctly configured in the Acct table.

  1. On the Main ribbon tab, click Navigation > Explorer.

  2. In the Explorer task pane, in the Library section, click Table Library > !Dimensions, and double-click ACCT.

  3. In the ACCT column, navigate to the appropriate account.

  4. Verify that the following columns display the appropriate values:

    Statement

    VCC
    Type Comments
    FSSummary C_Comments

  5. Modify the information as needed.

  6. On the Main ribbon tab, click Save.

  7. Open the VCC Threshold table: On the Admin ribbon tab, click Admin Task Panes > Management Reporting > Admin Task Pane > Update VCC Threshold Table.

  8. Verify that the VCC Threshold table does not display an error message.

Outcome

After you complete the steps above, the VCC Threshold table does not display an error message.
