Unexpected login page when using Axiom Prompt

Summary

When a user attempts to log into Axiom Relationship Profitability and Pricing System with their Axiom Prompt credentials, they may encounter an unexpected login page and are unable to authenticate.

Details

Axiom Prompt Authentication is fully defined and managed through Axiom Relationship Profitability and Pricing System. It is available to all systems, regardless of any other authentication method that may be used. Axiom Cloud Service systems whose primary authentication method is SAML or OpenID may use Axiom Prompt authentication as a secondary method for various reasons:

  • You need to provide access to employees or contractors that have not been added to your organization's identity provider.
  • Your Information Technology department is merging domains or transitioning to a different identity provider.
  • You need to use Axiom Relationship Profitability and Pricing System features that don't support SAML or OpenID authentication, such as authenticating OData API requests.

By design, Axiom Cloud Service systems that use SAML or OpenID authentication automatically forward users to the identity provider’s login page when they navigate to the Axiom URL. If you have users that need to use Axiom Prompt authentication, they need to go to a different URL to access the Axiom login page. Your identity provider’s login page does not accept Axiom prompt credentials.

NOTE: Kaufman Hall utilizes Axiom Prompt authentication for cloud monitoring, support, and implementation activities.

Resolution

To access the Axiom login page, append /home/login to the Axiom URL.

For example, if your Axiom URL is https://example.axiom.cloud, then:

  1. Add /home/login at the end of the URL:

    https://example.axiom.cloud/home/login

  2. Log in using your Axiom Prompt credentials.

Outcome

Using the Axiom login page, users can authenticate with Axiom Prompt credentials as a temporary or secondary authentication method.
