Close the Current Document command

Use the Close command to close the currently active file or to close all open files.

Ribbon tabs
Task panes

When the Close command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as command://Close or command://CloseCommandAdapter (legacy syntax).

Shortcut parameters

This command uses a single shortcut parameter to specify the behavior:

Close Mode	Select one of the following: Current document (default): Closes the currently active file. This is the same behavior as right-clicking the file tab and selecting Close. All documents: Closes all closeable files (the Home file and other non-closeable files will remain open). This is the same behavior as right-clicking a file tab and selecting Close All.

Visibility

Items using this command are always visible unless there are no open documents to be closed. You can use the Show restricted items option in the task pane or the ribbon tab to force items that use this command to be visible at all times (but grayed out if unavailable).
