Copying a workflow

You can copy an existing workflow to create a new workflow. The copy can be created within the same file group, or a different file group.

  • If the copy is created within a file group that uses the same plan code table, then all settings for the existing workflow will be copied to the new workflow, including ownership assignments for each stage.
  • If the copy is created within a file group that does not use the same plan code table, then all non-ownership settings are copied to the new workflow. Ownership assignments are treated as follows:
    • If the stage had a default assignment, the plan files are assigned to (Use Default Assignment). The default assignment is also copied.
    • If the stage did not have a default assignment, then the plan files are set to (No Assignments) and no default assignment is set.

To copy a workflow:

  1. On the Axiom tab, in the Administration group, click Manage > Workflows.
  2. In the Workflow Manager dialog, navigate to the workflow that you want to copy, and then click Copy Workflow .
  3. In the Choose File Group dialog, select the file group where you want to copy the new workflow, and then click OK.

The Edit Workflow dialog opens, containing the copied settings for the workflow.

  4. Edit the workflow settings as needed, and then click Apply or OK to save.

The new workflow is now available for the file group. It is inactive until you activate it.
