Axiom Explorer Tree View command

Use the Axiom Explorer Tree View command to present all or a portion of the Axiom Explorer treeview in a task pane.

By default, the entire Axiom Explorer treeview displays in the task pane, filtered by the user's security settings. For example, if a user does not have any access to imports or Scheduler jobs, then those libraries will not display in the Libraries section. The relevant Axiom Explorer right-click commands will be available for all files and sections that the user has rights to access.

Can be used in

  • Task panes

Axiom Software provides a built-in task pane named Explorer which uses the Axiom Explorer Tree View command. By default, the task pane is available to all users. For more information on the built-in Explorer task pane, see Configuring the Explorer task pane. However, you can also include this command in your custom task panes if desired.

When the Axiom Explorer Tree View command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as command://AxiomExplorerTreeViewAdapter.

Shortcut parameters

This command uses the following parameters. Each parameter represents a section of the Axiom Explorer treeview, which can be set to either Show or Hide. By default, all sections are shown.

Item Description

My Files

Shows or hides the My Files section of Axiom Explorer.

File Groups

Shows or hides the File Groups section of Axiom Explorer.

Libraries

Shows or hides the Libraries section of Axiom Explorer.

Axiom System Folder

Shows or hides the Axiom System section of Axiom Explorer.

NOTE: The Show setting only determines whether the section is eligible to be shown. Whether the section is actually visible depends on the user's security settings.

Remarks

When you use the Axiom Explorer command in a task pane, it is recommended to select the Display child items inline option for the item in the task pane. This causes the Axiom Explorer treeview to display directly within the task pane. If you do not select this option, then the Axiom Explorer treeview will display as a collapsible section underneath the item's display text. Since the Axiom Explorer control includes its own collapsible sections, this behavior is usually not desired.

Visibility

This command does not depend on any security permissions or on any particular context. Items using this command will always be visible.

The security permission Administer Axiom Explorer does not have any impact on the visibility of the Axiom Explorer treeview in a task pane. That permission only controls access to the full Axiom Explorer dialog. As long as a user has access to the task pane that contains the Axiom Explorer Tree View command, that user can view the control. However, the contents of the Axiom Explorer treeview once it is displayed are always dependent on security permissions.
