Table Administration command

Use the Table Administration command to perform various table administration activities. The shortcut parameters for the command determine which action is performed.

  • Task panes

This command is included in the default AxiomMain.AXL ribbon tab, as part of the Administration group.

When the Table Administration command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as command://TableAdministration or command://TableAdministrationCommandAdapter (legacy syntax).

Shortcut parameters

This command uses a single shortcut parameter named Action. This parameter determines which table management action will be performed by the item:

Action Description

Set system current period

Changes the system current period. This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > System Current Period/Year on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Set tables current period

Changes table-specific current periods. This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > Table Current Periods on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Show table manager

Opens Axiom Explorer to the Table Library area. This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > Manage Tables on the Axiom ribbon tab. This option is selected by default.

Add table

Creates a new table. This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > Add Table on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Copy table data

Copies data between tables (or within a table). This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > Copy Table Data on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Zero table data

Zeros or deletes table data. This is the same as using Tables > Table Administration > Zero/Delete Table Data on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Show Drill-Through Manager

Opens the Drill-Through Manager for managing drill-through definitions. This is the same behavior as using Tables > Table Administration > Drill-Through Manager on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Dimension Manager

Opens the Dimension Manager dialog. This is the same behavior as using Tables > Table Administration > Dimension Manager on the Axiom ribbon tab.

Table Administration Menu

Displays the full Tables menu. This option is system-managed and will be updated to reflect the current state of the Tables menu.

Data Set Manager

Opens the Data Set Manager. This is the same behavior as using Tables > Table Administration > Data Set Manager on the Axiom ribbon tab.

The default display text for the command will automatically adjust based on the Action selection.

Visibility

Items using this command are only visible if the user is an administrator or if the user has the Administer Tables permission. You can use the Show restricted item option in the task pane or the ribbon tab to force items that use this command to be visible at all times (but grayed out if unavailable for use).
