Use the Run QA Diagnostics command to run one or more diagnostics tests on the currently active file.
Can be used in
- Ribbon tabs
- Task panes
When the Run QA Diagnostics command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as command://QADiagnostics or command://QADiagnosticsCommandAdapter (legacy syntax).
Shortcut parameters
The shortcut parameters for this command are a series of check boxes for each diagnostics test that can be performed. When the command is run, all enabled tests will be performed.
-
Select Run All Diagnostics at the top of the list to run all available tests.
-
If you want to run all tests that belong to a particular testing category (such as to run Axiom Query Diagnostics if you are only concerned about testing your queries), then you can clear the "Run All" option and instead select one or more of the categories underneath it. To see which tests are included in a particular category, you can click the arrow to expand the category.
-
If you want to run only certain tests, you can clear the "Run All" option and instead select one or more of the individual tests listed at the bottom. You can also select a mix of test categories and individual tests.
For more information on diagnostics tests, see Using file diagnostics for troubleshooting and optimization.
Visibility
Items that use this command are visible if the currently active file is a spreadsheet. The diagnostics tests can only be run on spreadsheet files.
Although no particular security permissions are required to see and run the command, some of the individual tests may require certain permissions and will fail if the user does not have those permissions. For example, the Check for Save Errors test will fail if the user does not have the appropriate permissions to perform a save-to-database on the file.
You can use the Show restricted items option in the task pane or the ribbon tab to force items that use this command to be visible at all times (but grayed out if unavailable for use).
