Navigation commands

Using the Navigation commands, you can link to a designated area of the Web Client. These links are intended for use in task panes that define navigation links for the Navigation panel in the Web Client. The following commands are available:

  • Forms Explorer: Opens the Forms Explorer page.
  • Navigation - Home: Opens the user's home page.
  • Navigation - Report Designer: Opens the Report Designer page.
  • Navigation - Table Manager: Opens the Table Manager page.

Can be used in

  • Web navigation task panes

When a navigation command is selected from the Command Library as the shortcut target, it displays as:

  • command://FormsExplorer
  • command://FormsHome or legacy syntax of command://FormsHomeCommandAdapter
  • command://ReportDesigner or legacy syntax of command://ReportBuilder
  • command://FormsTableManager or legacy syntax of command://FormsTableManagerCommandAdapter

Shortcut parameters

The navigation commands do not have any shortcut parameters.

Visibility

Items using the navigation commands are visible as follows:

  • Items using Navigation - Table Manager are only visible to administrators and to users with the Administer Tables permission.
  • Items using all other navigation commands are visible to all users.

Remarks

  • The navigation commands can only be used in task panes that define navigation links for the Navigation panel in the Web Client. For more information, see Defining content for the Web Client Navigation panel.

  • The Report Designer command uses a built-in icon that cannot be overridden using the Custom Symbol feature.
