Shortcuts to web pages

You can use a shortcut to open a web page. If you choose to link to a web page, keep in mind that Axiom Software has no control over the behavior or content of the external web site.

Can be used in

  • Axiom forms
  • Favorites
  • Ribbon tabs
  • Task panes

Syntax

In the Shortcut Target, enter the full URL to the web page. For example:

http://www.kaufmanhall.com

Shortcut parameters

When a web address is specified as the shortcut target, the following shortcut parameters are available:

Item Description

Axiom Tab Name

Defines an alternate tab name for the specified web page.

If you are using the Windows Client and you want the web page to open as a tab inside Axiom Software, then define an Axiom tab name. If no tab name is defined, or if you are using any other client, then the web page will open in the user's browser.

This setting does not apply when using a URL as a shortcut in Axiom forms.

Query String Parameters

If the web site URL takes additional parameters (appended to the URL with a question mark), those parameters must be entered into the Additional Query String Values section of the shortcut properties. Click the plus icon to add a name / value pair, and then enter the parameter name and value. You cannot enter the URL with those parameters already appended, because Axiom Software allows its own optional parameters to control the tab behavior. The parameters must be separated out so that Axiom Software can construct the necessary URL syntax to both open the tab and launch the URL.
