Axiom Software app for iPad
Kaufman Hall provides an app to make it easy to connect to Axiom Software and view Axiom forms and web reports using Apple iPad. The app is available for download in the Apple App Store as "Axiom EPM".
Connecting to Axiom Software
When you first open the app, you are prompted to enter the connection information to your Axiom Software system. Enter the following values and then tap Log In to access Axiom Software:
- Server: The URL to your Axiom Application Server. This will be something like:
https://servername/axiom
. - User Name: Your user name for Axiom Software.
- Password: Your password for Axiom Software.
If you are not sure of any of these values, please contact your system administrator for assistance.
Once you input these values, they will be stored in the app for future use. The next time you open the app, it will automatically connect to the designated server using these credentials.
If you do not want the app to automatically connect using your credentials, you can go to the Settings screen and tap Log Out. This will clear the password value but retain the server and user name values. In order to log in again, you must re-enter your password.
If you want to clear out all values, you must log out and then delete the server and user name values. You can then enter new values as needed. Currently only one server and one set of credentials can be stored—if you have access to multiple Axiom Software servers you must enter the credentials manually each time you want to connect to a different server.
Browsing files
Using the app, you can view any Axiom form or web report that you have security rights to access. The files are organized into three categories. You can switch between these categories using the menu bar at the bottom of the app.
- Reports Library: Access forms and web reports saved in the Reports Library.
- Plan Forms: Access plan file forms from various file groups.
- Favorites: Access forms and web reports that you have saved as favorites.
Within each category, the files are displayed in a folder structure. Tap a folder to view the files within that folder. To go back up the folder tree, tap the arrow button in the top left-hand corner of the app.
To open a file, tap it. You can then interact with the file as normal. To return to the current folder location, tap the arrow button in the top left-hand corner of the app.
IMPORTANT: The refresh icon in the top right-hand corner of the app reloads the file (as if you had closed and reopened it). This is equivalent to refreshing the browser. This button should not be used if all you want to do is refresh the data displayed in the file. Most files are set up to auto-refresh as needed, or they will have a refresh button directly within the file.
NOTES:
- If a folder is blank, that means you have security permission to access that folder, but the folder does not contain any Axiom forms that you have permission to access.
- If you have access to the My Documents folder in Axiom Software, these files do not display in the app unless they have been saved as favorites within the Axiom Excel Client or Windows Client.
Favorites
The Favorites area displays any Axiom form or web report that has been saved as a favorite, either in the Axiom Excel Client or Windows Client, or in the iPad app. Your list of favorites is the same across all clients.
-
Saving a favorite: When a file is open in the app, you can save it as a favorite by tapping the plus icon
in the top right-hand corner of the app.
-
Removing a favorite: The app does not contain an option to remove a file from favorites. This can only be done in the Axiom Excel Client or Windows Client.
-
Organizing or renaming favorites: The app does not contain functionality to reorganize or rename favorites. This can only be done in the Axiom Excel Client or Windows Client.
