Application Server Administration

The Axiom Web Client provides access to several technical administration tools in addition to the user features. The following provides an overview of these features.

To access these features, go to the Axiom Software launch page and then click the Application Server Administration icon. This takes you to a page where you can navigate to any of the features listed below. Except where noted below, access to these pages requires administration rights to the installation.

From any administration page, you can click the Axiom Software logo in the top right-hand corner to return to the home page.

Item Description

Logging

Use this page to access the application server log and the web client log, and to change the current logging level for both.

Database Configuration

Use this page to view configuration details about the Axiom Software database (including the corresponding audit database).

Manage Servers

Use this page to view the servers associated with this Axiom Software installation, and reset them if needed.

Server Caches

Use this page to clear the application server cache. Most processes that require a cache reset perform this reset automatically. However, from time to time you may be instructed to do this manually when working with Axiom Support to troubleshoot an issue.

Web Client Sessions

Use this page to view information about recent Web Client sessions.

Rebuild Table Views

Use this page to reset the table views for the installation. This should not be necessary on a regular basis, however, from time to time you may be instructed to do this manually when working with Axiom Support to troubleshoot an issue.

Update Axiom Licenses

Use this page to upload a new Axiom Software license for your installation.

Software Updates

Use this page to find, download, and install software updates. For more information, see Applying platform software updates and Applying product updates.

Network Speed Test

Use this page to test the latency and bandwidth of your connection to the server. Click Start Test to begin. Axiom Software Support may ask you to do this as part of the technical requirements evaluation, or when troubleshooting an issue. Access to this page does not require administration rights.

IPC Message Tracker

Use this page to view inter-process communications sent between Axiom Application Servers and clients. This page is typically only used for troubleshooting while working with Axiom Support.

System Configuration

Use this page to modify certain system configuration settings relating to the launch page and login behavior. You can modify the following settings on this page:

  • SystemName
  • WindowsAuthAllowedDomains
  • AllowShowExcel (True/False)
  • AllowShowWord (True/False)
  • AllowShowPowerPoint (True/False)
  • ShowRememberMe (True/False)
